Woodlands Conservancy Trails are open from dawn until dusk.
2. How do I get there?
From downtown New Orleans, take the Crescent City Connection to the Westbank. Take the General DeGaulle East exit (9B). Merge onto General DeGaulle and travel 2.9 miles, continuing over the Intracoastal Canal. Enter the traffic circle at the end of the bridge ramp and exit left to go under the bridge. Drive 0.6 miles on Highway 406/Woodland Hwy to the caution light. Turn left at the caution light onto F. Edward Hebert Blvd. Continue 0.6 Miles. The entrance is on the left. Drive all the way down the dirt road along the canal to the parking area at the trailhead.

Yes, Woodlands Conservancy trails are free and open to the public.
4. What is the purpose of Woodlands Conservancy?
Woodlands Conservancy is a 501-C-3, nonprofit land trust organization created with the mission to preserve and restore an ecosystem dedicated to creating daily public opportunities for recreation, ecotourism and education in a natural and historic setting. The vision of Woodlands Conservancy is to be the regional model for the conservation of hardwood forests, and a leader in the advocacy and preservation of Louisiana’s coastal forest ecosystems.
5. What kind of wildlife might I see on the trails?
Along the trails you may encounter birds, turtles, frogs and toads, snakes, armadillos, squirrels, raccoons, lizards and more.
6. Are there picnic areas and is food allowed?
You are welcome to have your lunch at the Daybrook Pavilion or at the picnic shelter beside the 1st bridge. Do not feed any animals.
7. Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times and dog owners must clean up after their pets.
8. How is Woodlands Conservancy funded?
Woodlands Conservancy is funded by individual and corporate donations, memberships and grants from a variety of government agencies, corporations and private foundations.
