Introduction to Hiking in the Wild
November 17, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
New to hiking? Come join us for a FREE outing led by Naomi Yoder. You will be introduced to gear and clothing that can make your hikes more comfortable and enjoyable. We’ll practice some techniques to help you hike more efficiently, and cover skills such as route finding and emergency preparedness. With her wealth of knowledge in natural history and navigation, Naomi will lend her personal knowledge to add interest to your hike.
The event is appropriate for those new to the idea of hiking in the wilderness, scouts and those who want a refresher in safety and navigation in the wilderness.
** REGISTRATION CLOSED **
We have reached capacity for this program, please check back later for future events!
The Woodlands Wild Program series is made possible by a 2018 Explore Fund grant from The North Face! We’ve been selected as one of only 40 organizations, from a pool of over a thousand applicants, to receive this grant!
