This is your chance to get outside in nature alone or with your like-minded friends to give back to your community by walking, hiking and/or running a marathon, 26.2 miles, at your own pace in the month October.

BATS of Woodlands
Woodlands Preserve 449 F. Edward Hebert Blvd., Belle Chasse, LouisianaDr. Craig Hood, Loyola University, will conduct a presentation on the species of Bats that reside at Woodlands Preserve. He will review common myths about bats and share methods of identifying birds by sound in the forest. Costumes are encouraged!
Birds of Woodlands with Dr. Peter Yaukey
Woodlands Preserve Trailhead 449 F Edward Hebert Blvd, Belle Chasse, LADr. Peter Yaukey will give a presentation on common birds that can be seen at Woodlands Preserve. He will also lead a hike through our preserve to spot and identify birds.
Woodlands Preserve Open House
Join us for our Open House event on Saturday, November 12th! We will be at the preserve from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., leading hikes to show all of the restoration projects we have been working on. Come out for hiking, community, and refreshments.
Mammals of Woodlands Conservancy with Tanya Sturman
Woodlands Preserve Trailhead 449 F Edward Hebert Blvd, Belle Chasse, LATanya Sturman will give a presentation on mammals you might find in Woodlands Conservancy at the picnic tables in the meadow. She will also lead a short hike, during which, she will point out signs of mammal activity and teach to identify these traces.
